Brandenberg est une commune de 1551 habitants dans la vallée de Brandenberger et fait partie du district de Kufstein dans le Tyrol. La commune est située dans le district judiciaire de Rattenberg. La commune de Brandenberg comprend les vallées formées par la Brandenberger Ache et ses affluents. Au nord-ouest du territoire communal, quelques parcelles proches des sources du Filzmoosbach et du Weißbachl sont également incluses. Le territoire communal borde au nord le district de Miesbach dans l'État libre de Bavière et au sud la commune de Kramsach dans la vallée de l'Inn.
