À Bruxelles, on trouve une petite statue du médecin et scientifique Rembert Dodoens sur la Petite Sablon. Au centre de cette place datant de 1890 se trouve la statue des comtes d'Ekmon et de Horn, qui ont été décapités sur la Grand-Place. Autour d'Ekmon et de Horn se dressent dix statues de figures célèbres du XVIe siècle, parmi lesquelles Dodoens. En examinant les noms sur les statues, on peut constater que Bruxelles était déjà très francisée en 1890 : sur la statue de Dodoens, on trouve en effet le nom Dodonée (français pour Dodonaeus).
