Pascal Verbeken décrit dans son magnifique livre 'Grand Central Belge' comment en 1892 le Parlement belge a approuvé la loi sur l'introduction d'une heure standard dans tout le royaume. Cette détermination de l'heure a été faite à l'Institut Royal Météorologique de Belgique à Uccle, et a été transmise au chef de station de Bruxelles-Nord. Ce chef de station a fait mettre toutes les horloges des stations à l'heure. Mais savais-tu que les administrations communales qui n'appliquaient pas l'heure officielle sur les horloges des tours et autres horloges publiques avaient des démêlés avec la justice.
