Cette brasserie, fondée en 1860, est dirigée par 3 cousins qui sont des descendants du fondateur Emmanuel Slaghmuylder. La brasserie dispose de son propre musée, mais les attractions principales restent la machine à vapeur et l'ancienne machine de mise en bouteille.
Depuis 1979, les trois cousins ont commencé à brasser la Witkap-Pater pour la brasserie 'De Drie Linden' de Brasschaat. En 1981, la Witkap-Pater a été officiellement reprise.
Aujourd'hui, la brasserie est équipée de caves de fermentation et de maturation séparées pour les bières à haute et basse fermentation, afin que les deux puissent être brassées dans des conditions optimales. La Witkap-Pater est donc une bière d'abbaye à ne pas manquer.
