This brewery, founded in 1860, is run by three cousins who are descendants of the founder Emmanuel Slaghmuylder. The brewery has its own museum, but the main attractions are the steam engine and the old bottling machine.
Since 1979, the three cousins have been brewing the Witkap-Pater for the brewery 'De Drie Linden' from Brasschaat. In 1981, the Witkap-Pater was officially taken over.
Now the brewery is equipped with separate fermentation and aging cellars for top and bottom-fermented beers, so both can be brewed under optimal conditions. Witkap-Pater is therefore a must-try abbey beer.
