Fraire est une section de la ville belge de Walcourt située en Région wallonne dans la province de Namur.La commune est bornée au nord par Laneffe et Chastrès, à l’est par Saint-Aubin et Morialmé, au sud par Yves-Gomezée et à l’ouest par Walcourt. Elle est traversée par la N 5 et la N 932 .Le ruisseau de Fairoul, affluent de l’Eau d’Yves, prend sa source dans la commune.
