L’ancienne halle aux Draps a été érigée en 1610-1611 en style Renaissance. En 1616, une vaste cour à galerie est ajoutée à l’arrière du bâtiment. Néanmoins, l’ensemble a été reconstruit quasi intégralement entre 1880 et 1888, puis réparé suite aux dommages de guerre. La façade principale en pierre bleue comprend deux niveaux de onze travées séparées par des colonnes toscanes et ioniques. Au rez-de-chaussée, la travée centrale est cantonnée de quatre arcades brisées qui forment une galerie ajourée. La cour intérieure accueille diverses manifestations culturelles.
