Bunker construite en béton armé appartenant à la ligne allemande de Hollande. La ligne a été érigée entre 1916 et 1918 par l'armée allemande, craignant une attaque alliée via les Pays-Bas neutres. La Stellung s'étend de Knokke à Beveren et se relie au niveau de Vrasene à la Stellung d'Anvers, également allemande, construite durant la même période. Les bunkers à Evergem doivent être considérés à la lumière de la protection du Canal Gand-Terneuzen. Au niveau d'Eeklo (Strobrugge), la ligne se scinde en une ligne de postes avancés et une ligne principale. La ligne n'a été utilisée que de manière très limitée et localisée dans une situation de combat.
