Le cimetière militaire allemand de Langemark est l'un des 4 cimetières collectifs allemands en Belgique. Ce cimetière est également appelé le « Studentenfriedhof ». Un certain nombre de jeunes soldats allemands volontaires ont été tués ici lors de la Première Bataille d'Ypres en 1914. À présent, plus de 44 300 soldats allemands y sont enterrés. Plus de la moitié repose ensemble dans la tombe des camarades près de l'entrée du cimetière. Environ 17 000 soldats de cette fosse commune ont pu être identifiés. Leurs noms se trouvent sur les blocs autour de la tombe des camarades.
