Le dernier comte était Albert II de Dabo-Moha qui mourut sans héritiers. Au début du XIIIe siècle, le comté est donné aux princes-évêques de Liège.
Henri Ier de Brabant et le comte Louis II de Looz étaient tous deux parents d'Albert II et se considéraient comme héritiers. Louis pouvait compter sur le soutien du prince-évêque. Bien que Henri subit une défaite lors de la bataille de Steps, il faudra de nombreuses années avant qu'il abandonne ses prétentions sur Moha . Le comté devient un quartier de la principauté de Liège.
