Quand on parle de 'La Ligne de Fer' à Neerpelt ou à Hamont, il s'agit généralement de la voie ferrée reliant Anvers à travers Neerpelt, Hamont, Weert et Roermond jusqu'à Mönchen-Gladbach. Au départ, il était prévu de creuser un canal sur cet itinéraire, d'où ce nom. Cela est finalement devenu une ligne de chemin de fer mise en service en 1879.
Quand on parle de La Ligne de Fer à Neerpelt, il s'agit de l'œuvre d'art qui a été installée à Neerpelt sur le viaduc, le Pont Victoria.
L'œuvre d'art dans la Heerstraat est une création de l'artiste John Körmeling.
L'inauguration officielle a eu lieu le vendredi 21 avril 2017.
