Akrenbos est situé entre Lessines et Bever et fait partie d’un plus grand complexe forestier 'Bois d’Acren' sur le territoire de la province de Hainaut. Il se trouve sur le flanc d’une vallée de ruisseau, l’Arenbergbeek est à la frontière avec le Hainaut. La vallée du ruisseau abrite une flore forestière printanière typique. Malgré le fait qu’il soit situé sur une pente, il y a peu de routes creuses ou de remblais. La partie sud est appelée 'Bos del Gouffe'. Dans la partie orientale, il y a plusieurs parcelles d’herbe et de terres arables.
