La Villa Drijgoten a été initialement construite en 1903 dans le style cottage, mais a été partiellement bétonnée dans les années 1940. La conception du jardin préservée, intégrant la différence naturelle de hauteur et le reste de l’ancienne anse du Schelde, est exemplaire d’un aménagement paysager du début du 20e siècle avec un étang sinueux et une statue pittoresque. Le concept du pont décorativement travaillé de 40 mètres de long en béton armé comme élément de connexion emblématique entre la villa et le jardin en contrebas est à qualifier de rare.
