Le château de Groeningen a été habité pendant des siècles par les seigneurs de Kontich qui avaient le pouvoir sur la région. À partir de 1830, le château est devenu la propriété de la famille Della Faille qui y réside encore aujourd'hui. Autour du château, un canal d'eau alimenté par le ruisseau de Mandoerse se forme. Ce cours d'eau prend sa source dans la commune voisine de Reet. Les allées, le parc et plusieurs bâtiments aux alentours sont protégés en tant que paysage villageois. Le château est en propriété privée. N'hésitez pas à vous promener le long des belles allées et à apercevoir ce mystérieux domaine.
