Dans le langage populaire, elle est également appelée ‘daa keirk' . Lorsque la paroisse de Saint-Nicolas est fondée en 1217, on construit à cet endroit la première église. Elle est donc la plus ancienne de la ville et de plus l'église collégiale. Elle a été nommée d'après Saint-Nicolas de Myre, le saint patron des commerçants. L'église a survécu à la Tempête des images en 1566 et à un incendie grave en 1690. Faites particulièrement attention aux belles vitraux à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur.
N'oubliez pas de visiter le trésor de l'église dans la crypte.
L'église est accessible au public chaque matin.
