Sonnis possède une petite église dédiée à Saint Jean Berchmans située sur la rue Berbestraatje. Déjà en 1950, on voulait y construire une église. Elle a été achevée en 1957. C'est un bâtiment simple en brique rouge avec à côté une tour carrée en briques. L'architecte était P. Ceelen.
À l'ouest de Sonnis se trouve le Château Den Dool. Au sud se trouve le tir "Sonnisheide". À l'est et au sud-est de Sonnis s'étend la grande lande de la Donderslagse Heide.
