Dans le cadre des célébrations de son 25e anniversaire, le Port de Bruxelles a procédé ici, en 2018, à la plantation de plus de 50 arbres et arbustes indigènes (pommiers, pruniers, noisetiers,...) sur le domaine portuaire, en bordure de la voie d’eau. L’espace sera bientôt aménagé sur base d’un plan de gestion réalisé par l’association Natagora. La plantation de ces arbres fait partie des efforts entrepris par l’autorité portuaire pour réduire ses émissions de gaz à effet de serre.
