Sur la place Carlos Dierickx, nous faisons halte devant la pierre d'ardoise Kwintie du XVIe siècle, intégrée à droite dans une reconstitution d'un tribunal féodal, une ancienne forme de justice se déroulant en plein air. Au centre se trouve le blason de Saint-Bavon. Saint-Martin d'Asper était placé sous le patronage de l'abbaye de Saint-Bavon de Gand. Carlos Dierickx, maire d'Asper et de Gavere pendant près d'un demi-siècle après la fusion, a sa statue sur sa place.
