Le château de Tervuren était le lieu de résidence et l'un des plus importants châteaux des Ducs de Brabant entre entre le 12ème et le 18ème siècle. Il fut construit vers 1190 sous Henri Ier, Duc de Brabant, et marqua le paysage de Tervuren pendant six siècles, avant d'être détruit par ordre de l'empereur Joseph en novembre 1781.
A ce jour, il n'en reste que quelques fondations mises à jour au bord de l'étang du château et la Chapelle Saint-Hubert, à l'origine un édifice en bois contemporain du château avant d'être remplacée par l'actuel édifice en pierre au 17ème siècle.
