Il Castello di Tervuren fu tra il XII e il XVIII secolo la residenza e uno dei principali castelli dei duchi di Brabante. Fu costruito intorno al 1190 sotto Enrico I, duca di Brabante, e segnò per sei secoli il paesaggio di Tervuren, prima di essere distrutto nel novembre del 1781 per ordine dell'imperatore Giuseppe.
Fino ad oggi sono rimaste solo alcune fondamenta aggiornate ai margini del laghetto del castello e della Cappella di San Ippolito, originariamente un moderno edificio in legno del castello prima di essere sostituito dall'attuale edificio in pietra del XVII secolo.
