L'Institut Sint-Leonardus était à l'origine un sanatorium pour les femmes allaitantes ayant besoin de repos. Plus tard, il est devenu un centre de soins résidentiels.
Le bâtiment néo-gothique date de 1902 et compte 46 chambres au total, dont six ont servi de résidences-services. Il comprend également une maison de directeur à rénover et une ancienne école. La superficie totale couvre 12 000 mètres carrés, dont 3 550 mètres carrés d'espace habitable.
Sœurs de la Miséricorde Agnès, Yvonne et Lutgard concluront en août 2020 une période de cent vingt ans au cours de laquelle elles se sont consacrées à l'éducation et aux soins.
En 2022, le bâtiment était toujours à vendre.
