Le Trou du Grand Duc est l'une des grottes les plus impressionnantes et mystérieuses du Parc de Furfooz . On y accède par un escalier et un sentier étroit .
Il s'agit d'une grotte ou d'un puits vertical d'une profondeur d'environ 20 mètres . L'ouverture est relativement étroite, mais l'espace en dessous s'élargit. Il s'agit d'une grotte calcaire naturelle , formée par l'érosion et les écoulements d'eau souterrains. Aucune découverte archéologique de grande envergure n'a été réalisée dans cette grotte.
« Trou du Grand Duc » signifie littéralement « Trou du Grand-Duc ». Le Grand-duc d'Europe est un hibou grand-duc qui niche dans cette région.
