Dans la communauté administrative de Bad Dürrenberg du district de Saalekreis, quatre communes ont été réunies pour le traitement des affaires administratives. La communauté administrative existait depuis 1992 sans changement. Le 1er avril 2006, la commune de Nempitz a rejoint la communauté administrative. Le 31 décembre 2009, Spergau a été intégré à Leuna, et le 1er janvier 2010, Nempitz et Tollwitz ont été intégrés dans la ville de Bad Dürrenberg, dissolvant ainsi la communauté administrative.
