Phantasialand est un parc à thèmes situé à Brühl, 10 kilomètres de Cologne, en Allemagne. Phantasialand a ouvert le 30 avril 1967 par Gottlieb Löffelhardt et Richard Schmidt dans une ancienne mine de lignite à ciel ouvert.
Richard Schmidt, marionnettiste ayant travaillé pour la télévision et Gottlieb Löffelhardt, fondent pour 2,5 millions de deutschemark le parc Phantasialand dans une ancienne mine de lignite à ciel ouvert. Il ouvre pour la première fois le 30 avril 1967 et utilise comme base les marionnettes de Richard Schmidt. La première saison du parc voit affluer 400 000 visiteurs.
