La forêt de Hixter ou le bois de Sölder est un petit morceau de forêt contiguous à la frontière de la ville entre Dortmund et Holzwickede.
Elle s'étend entre les banlieues de Sölderholz et Lichtendorf à l'ouest et le quartier de Dudenroth à Holzwickede à l'est. Les suffixes des noms de lieux -holz et -rode indiquent déjà une extension autrefois beaucoup plus grande de la forêt, avant que le défrichage et l'exploitation forestière ne la réduisent de plus en plus.
