Het Hixterwald of ook wel Sölder Holz is een klein aaneengeschakeld bosgebied aan de stadsgrens tussen Dortmund en Holzwickede.
Het strekt zich uit tussen de voorsteden Sölderholz en Lichtendorf in het westen en de Holzwickeder wijk Dudenroth in het oosten. De plaatsnamen-eindigingen -holz en -rode wijzen al op een vroeger veel grotere omvang van het bos, voordat het door ontbossing en houtkap steeds verder werd ingekrompen.
