La station des phoques du parc national est la seule station reconnue par l'État pour les mammifères marins dans le quartier Norddeich de Norder. Entre 80 et 180 phoques orphelins, mais aussi des phoques gris, y sont élevés chaque année et, par exemple, remis dans la mer du Nord sur l'Othelloplate au bord est de Norderney.
