La prison de Clevertor à Hanovre était une prison construite « probablement déjà à la fin du XVIIe siècle » dans le quartier de Calenberger Neustadt, qui se tenait jusqu'en 1859 sur les rives de la Leine devant le pont Goethe.
Le bâtiment, construit « probablement » à l’époque du duché de Brunswick-Lunebourg pour de soi-disant « criminels honteux », était situé à la fin de la Lange Straße sur les rives de la Leine. Il se trouvait juste en face de l'ancien pont Cavalier, à l'emplacement duquel se trouve aujourd'hui le pont Goethe. La « pièce d'interrogatoire » correspondante se trouvait « au-dessus de la voûte du Clevertor. »
