L’ED 50 est un système de référence géodésique, qui a été introduit en Europe après la Seconde Guerre mondiale pour réaliser l’unité en latitude et en longitude en Europe.
Il est basé sur l’ellipsoïde de Hayford et a un point de référence dans la Frauenkirche de Munich. Le système est toujours utilisé, mais est rapidement supplanté par le Système géodésique mondial de 1984.
