Göbeln est une commune allemande située dans l’arrondissement de Bautzen en Saxe depuis 1994. Le village est situé en Haute-Lusace et appartient à la zone de peuplement des Sorabes.
Göbeln est situé dans le paysage de landes et d’étangs de Haute-Lusace, à environ 14 kilomètres au nord-est de Bautzen, dans la plaine inondable de la Kleine Spree. Alors que cette région et les environs méridionaux de Göbeln sont utilisés pour l’agriculture, de vastes zones de forêts et de landes s’étendent vers le nord.
