Avant la formation de la commune unifiée de Südliches Anhalt le 1er janvier 2010, Quellendorf était une commune indépendante dans la communauté administrative de Südliches Anhalt avec le quartier associé de Diesdorf. La dernière maire de Quellendorf était Doris Zimmermann.
