Volkmannsdorf est un hameau du quartier de Saalfelder Höhe de la ville de Saalfeld/Saale dans le district de Saalfeld-Rudolstadt en Thuringe.
Le plateau agricole, situé à une altitude de 582 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer, est accessible par les routes départementales 136 et 141. Le village routier de Volkmannsdorf est toutefois niché dans une petite vallée latérale de la Weißen Sorbitz. Le territoire du village est entouré de forêts. À l'est, le voisin est Bernsdorf.
