Volkmannsdorf is een deelgemeente van de deelgemeente Saalfelder Höhe van de stad Saalfeld/Saale in de Landkreis Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thüringen.
De landbouwmatig gebruikte hoogvlakte op een hoogte van 582 meter boven NN is bereikbaar via de Kreisstraßen 136 en 141. Het dorpsdorp Volkmannsdorf ligt echter ingeklemd in een kleine zijvallei van de Witte Sorbitz. De kadastrale gemeente van het dorp is omgeven door bos. De oostelijke buur is Bernsdorf.
