La ruine du château de Klettenberg, également connue sous le nom de château de Clettenberg, est la ruine d'un château perché dans le village de Klettenberg, un quartier de la commune de Hohenstein dans le district de Nordhausen en Thuringe, à la bordure sud du Harz.
Pour protéger les localités d'Ellrich et de Walkenried, ainsi que l'actuelle dénommée Malmerode, un château a été construit par la noblesse saxonne sur un promontoire en avant du mont Klettenberg. Avant la construction de la forteresse, la colline du château a probablement été utilisée comme lieu de culte et d'offrande pour le dieu Krodo, comme le suggère la dénomination de Temple. Le château a été fondé vers 1087 par Volkmar de Walkenried.
