Bessingen est un village au Ith. Depuis 1973, c'est un quartier de la commune de Coppenbrügge dans le district de Hameln-Pyrmont en Basse-Saxe.
À Bessingen, des découvertes préhistoriques de la culture céramique à cordes datant de 2500 à 1700 av. J.-C. ont été faites. Cependant, aucune implantation n'est attestée. La vieille terminaison de nom « -hausen » indique une formation durant la période des grandes migrations entre le 4ème et le 6ème siècle. En 2012, Bessingen a célébré le 950ème anniversaire de son village. La raison en est la mention en tant que « Batsingehusen » dans un acte de donation du roi Henri IV daté du 9 mars 1062.
