Großenheidorn est une localité de la ville moyenne de Wunstorf dans la région de Hanovre en Basse-Saxe, qui borde immédiatement l'est de Steinhude. La localité compte environ 3000 habitants.
Großenheidorn est situé à l'est de Steinhude ; les localités se fondent parfaitement les unes dans les autres. En plus de la localité principale, il y a aussi le petit quartier Großenheidorn Strand directement sur la rive sud-est du lac de Steinhude. À l'est de Großenheidorn, à environ 1 km de distance, se trouvent le village de Klein Heidorn et la base aérienne de Wunstorf, qui abrite le squadron de transport aérien 62, équipé d'avions de transport de type Airbus A400M Atlas.
