Hoffnungsthal est un quartier de la commune de Much dans le district de Rhein-Sieg en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie. Le lieu a été créé le 2 décembre 1861 avec le déménagement de l'usine de papier Heinrich Geldmacher de Drabenderhöhe vers le Homburger Bröltal.
Hoffnungsthal se situe à la limite orientale de la commune de Much avec la commune de Ruppichteroth. Les communes voisines sont Neßhoven au nord, Millerscheid au sud et Werschberg au sud-ouest. Le lieu est directement situé sur la route nationale 350.
