Hoffnungsthal is een deelgemeente van de gemeente Much in de Rhein-Sieg-Kreis in Noordrijn-Westfalen. De plaats is ontstaan op 2 december 1861 met de verhuizing van de papierfabriek Heinrich Geldmacher van Drabenderhöhe naar het Homburger Bröltal.
Hoffnungsthal ligt aan de oostelijke gemeentegrens van Much naar de gemeente Ruppichteroth. Buurplaatsen zijn Neßhoven in het noorden, Millerscheid in het zuiden en Werschberg in het zuidwesten. De plaats ligt direct aan de provinciale weg 350.
