La gare est située sur la ligne Randers–Aalborg de Randers à Aalborg. La gare a ouvert en 1869. La gare de Hobro propose des services directs InterCity vers Copenhague et Aalborg. Les services ferroviaires sont opérés par DSB. La gare a ouvert en 1869 avec l'ouverture de la ligne de chemin de fer Randers-Aalborg de Randers à Aalborg. En 1893, la gare de Hobro est également devenue le terminus sud de la nouvelle ligne de chemin de fer Hobro–Aalestrup–Løgstør, jusqu'à la fermeture du tronçon entre Hobro et Aalestrup en 1966.
