Le château de Saix se dresse sur la population de Saix, dominant un rocher près de la rivière Vinalopó.
Le château de Saix a connu différentes phases de construction jusqu'à acquérir l'apparence que nous contemplons aujourd'hui. De nombreux auteurs estiment que sa structure actuelle date du XIVe siècle, bien qu'un alcázar ait déjà existé à ce même endroit à l'époque musulmane, également appelé Saix. La partie la plus ancienne du château est la zone nord, et la plus moderne, correspondant à la tour de l'Hommage.
