L'immeuble du Palais Épiscopal s'élève sur la Place de l'Évêque, très près de la Cathédrale de Malaga, et a été construit à l'époque de l'évêque José Franquis Lasso de Castilla, à partir de l'année 1762.
Le design est dû à l'architecte Antonio Ramos, qui, à la mort de José de Bada en 1756, poursuit les travaux qu'il réalisait pour la cathédrale.
