L'edificio del Palau Episcopal si erge nella Piazza del Vescovo molto vicino alla Cattedrale di Malaga, e fu costruito ai tempi del vescovo José Franquis Lasso de Castilla, a partire dall'anno 1762.
Il design è dovuto all'architetto Antonio Ramos, che alla morte di José de Bada nel 1756 continua con i lavori che questi stava realizzando per la cattedrale.
