La cathédrale dédiée à la Vierge Marie de Plasencia, dans la province de Cáceres, à l'ouest de l'Espagne, dans la communauté autonome d'Extrémadure, est le siège du diocèse de Plasencia, qui existe depuis 1189. La cathédrale se dresse sur une colline surplombant le Río Jerte, au cœur de la vieille ville de Plasencia, sur le flanc sud-ouest de la Sierra Ibérique, à une altitude d'environ 430 m.
