Le Col de Rates relie Parcent à Tàrbena à travers la Sierra del Carrascar de Parcent. Le col se trouve à une altitude de 626 mètres. En haut (et en bas de Parcent), il y a un Stoppomat, qui vous permet d'enregistrer votre temps d'escalade. Ce que beaucoup ne savent pas, c'est qu'il est possible de dévier en haut de la route principale et de monter aux antennes qui se trouvent à environ 300 mètres plus haut. D'abord, on parcourt environ 250 mètres de chemin non goudronné. Ensuite, vous atteindrez le sommet par un chemin en béton. Le tronçon jusqu'aux antennes est également le plus raide de toute la montée.
