Jarnac, en saintongeais Jharnat,, est une commune du Sud-Ouest de la France, située dans le département de la Charente, en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Elle est située sur la rive droite du fleuve Charente, entre Angoulême et Cognac.
La ville est située dans la zone d'appellation d'origine contrôlée cognac, dans le cru Fins Bois. De grandes et renommées maisons de négoce et beaucoup de petits producteurs de cognac, de Pineau des Charentes et de vin de Pays charentais sont installés dans la ville et dans ses proches environs.
