Erp est une commune française, située dans l'ouest du département de l'Ariège en région Occitanie, au cœur du Couserans et à proximité de la ville de Saint-Girons. Le village est connu en particulier pour ses parcours de randonnées, , et son belvédère du col d'Ayens. Sur le plan historique et culturel, la commune fait partie du Couserans, pays aux racines gasconnes structuré par le cours du Salat.
