La Calmette est une commune française située dans le centre du département du Gard, en région Occitanie.Exposée à un climat méditerranéen, elle est drainée par le Gard, l'Esquielle, le ruisseau de Braune, le ruisseau de l'Auriol, le Rouvégade et par un autre cours d'eau. Incluse dans les gorges du Gardon, la commune possède un patrimoine naturel remarquable composé de trois zones naturelles d'intérêt écologique, faunistique et floristique.
