Lors d’une balade en bateau ou du haut de la Dune du Pilat, vous pourrez admirer ce banc de sable classé réserve naturelle depuis 1972. Il est le plus vaste du littoral girondin et s’étend à marée basse sur 4 km de long et 2 km de large. Situé à l’entrée du Bassin d’Arcachon, transformé par les marées, il est en mouvement constant. Si vous avez le privilège d’y poser le pied, vous pourrez observer les ostréiculteurs travailler dans leur parc à huîtres et le ballet incessant des sternes caugeks et autres oiseaux migrateurs.
