Cette église paroissiale du quartier des Badernes, de fondation très ancienne, tire son nom d'un évêque de Cahors du VIe siècle. Sa construction est le fruit de plusieurs époques s'échelonnant entre le XIIe et le XIXe siècle.
Le portail roman à billettes, dont on devine la présence sur le mur sud, est sans doute abandonné au début du XIVe siècle au profit du grand portail à voussure ouvert sur le mur ouest.
Ce dernier, bordé de niches à statues et d'une frise de feuillage assez fruste, présente une statue médiévale de Vierge à l'Enfant, en partie remaniée.
