Le Palais Brongniart, commandé par Napoléon, doit son nom à l'architecte Alexandre Théodore Brongniart (1808-1825). Inauguré le 4 novembre 1826, il a été le siège de la Bourse de Paris pendant près de cent cinquante ans. Abandonné par les agents de change depuis des années, le marché boursier a cessé ses activités en 1987. Aujourd'hui, le site propose une galerie dédiée à l'histoire de la Bourse. Conçu par A. Brongniart, le Palais n'est malheureusement plus ouvert au public depuis 2008.
